Achievements

-Reclamation of about 245,000 feddans by using surface water.
-Reclamation of about 82,000 feddans by using ground water.

Future Plans

-Reclamation of about 2 million feddans by using surface water.
-Reclamation of about 610,000 feddans by using ground water.
-Reclamation of about 250,000 feddans by using sewage water.

Structure

The Horizontal Expansion Sector consists of the following main departments
- Horizontal Expansion in Lower Egypt Central Department (East Delta, West Delta , Middle Delta and El Salam).
- Horizontal Expansion in Upper Egypt Central Department (Bani Swaf , Assuit and Esna).
- Structural Designs General Directorate.
- South Egypt Development Organization
